Kano state Government has sealed ten pharmaceutical premises in the metropolis in an effort to sanitize and monitor their activities according to standard.
The pharmaceutical inspection committee under the ministry of health made this known shortly after the closure of the pharmaceutical premises, adding that the government of the state is fully committed towards safeguarding and protecting the lives of its citizens in the state.
The secretary of the committee Samaila Chiroma explained that some of the pharmaceutical sealed by the committee were found guilty, in distributing fake drugs, sale of unregistered drugs and unethical practice such as giving infusion drip in the premises.
Other offenses are dirty environment and sale of prescript medicines in the absence of a pharmacist which is against the ethics of the profession.
Chiroma adviced all the pharmaceutical industry to abide by the ethics of the profession in the interest of protecting lives and property of the general public, adding that, the committee would continue to inspect all pharmaceutical premises in the state to ensure they adhere to the norms and law of the land.
